We had seen a lot of mosques near and far during our travels with their distinctive spire. On this day, we got to visit one in the city of Tetovo. It was originally built in 1438. Most mosques of the time had sultans, beys or pashas financing their constructions, but the Šarena Džamija, however, was financed by two sisters, Hurshida and Mensure, from Tetovo.
