on safari at Safari West

On May 5, 2007, I had the good fortune of going on safari at Safari West... a wild life preserve, established in 1979, outside of Santa Rosa, CA. There are over 400 exotic mammals and birds on 400 acres of land that can be observed up close and personal from a World War II vintage Dodge Power Wagon. "Good fortune" in that I did not anticipate being "right there" to witness the actual struggle and defense of new life in the wild... something one might see on Discovery Channel or in person in Africa...
