Lake Almanor (4.505 feet) is a large reservoir (13 miles long and 6 miles wide) in northwestern Plumas County, northeastern California. The first dam (north fork of the Feather River) was completed in 1914 and is currently operated by PG&E for hydroelectricity production. Otherwise, it is also a popular recreation area, with fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, and camping available... and there's a road that goes around it for the second lake loop on my two-wheeler...
