~BunceMan's TranzAmerican Bike Ride~

Epilogue: July 17, 2005

Day 35: Newtown, Pennsylvania, to Atlantic City, New Jersey. Here's the deal: George Washington took a chance and wanted to surprise the British (actually some German soldiers fighting for Britain.. who liked to party on special occasions) on Christmas night in 1776. To achieve maximum surprise, however, Washington and his army of 2000 had to get across the cold and icy Delaware River first.

They did, and totally surprised the British (Germans), routing them in only 45 minutes. The tired, hungry Americans also found food, supplies, and ammunition to continue their campaign for independence.

I also crossed the Delaware today in the same place (there's a bridge there now).. not to defeat an enemy, but to achieve a goal: Atlantic City, New Jersey, and the end of BunceMan's TranzAmerican Bike Ride...

Day 35 mileage: 100 miles | Highlights from the final day | The actual finish | TranzAmerican Bike Stats | Oh, and about the food I ate...
